Leading bingo and gaming operator Rank Group has announced that it will be adding a further extension to its existing partnership with Playtech, the global games developer.
The five-year extension will include a deal to exclusively supply the Rank bingo platform along with additional games content. The enhanced partnership is in line with Rank’s similar extension to their casino services deal with Playtech along with a recent agreement to launch the firm’s poker platform, bringing Playtech into all three of Rank’s main gaming provisions.
Speaking about the development, the CMO at Rank, James Boord, said that it was part of their drive to provide growth and innovation for their customers:
“As such, we are delighted to be continuing and extending our long working relationship with Playtech. We continue to build on our market leading position and sustained growth and Playtech has a track record like no other supplier, both as a technology provider and content developer, making them a clear choice as our exclusive long-term bingo provider.”
As part of the new bingo deal, which will cover the Lucky Pants, Mecca, and Kitty Bingo brands, Playtech will provide dedicated content development for the Rank Group, which Rank hope will ensure that each of the brands will have a significant point of differentiation in the UK business market, as the digital bingo sector continues to perform strongly.
Speaking for Playtech, their Director of Digital Bingo, Angus Nisbet, said that Rank was a valued partners and that the new deal was a milestone in their partnership. He added that with the recent addition to provide casino content for Rank, they were hopeful of continuing to develop their relationship, and to continue to produce bespoke bingo content for the three brands.
The UK bingo industry was estimated to be worth £1 billion in 2019, but the retail sector has struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic, with many venues closed for several months.
